C# 4.0 Overview - Prakash Balasubramanian

The major theme for C# 4.0 is dynamic programming which provides a unified approach to performing certain operations dynamically while interacting with objects whose structure and behavior is not captured by a static type. This session will give a brief overview of the new language features introduced in version 4 of C# which was released as part of Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4. You will learn the motivation behind these new features and understand how some of the existing solutions to some common programming problems are simplified when you use these new features which will in turn help increase your productivity.

VB 2010 New Language Features - Adrian 'Spotty' Bowles

Visual Basic has always been about developing applications to get the job done quickly. During the 2008 and 2010 product cycles many new language features have been added to provide enhanced functionality and productivity. Sean is a Lead Program Manager working on the Visual Studio Professional team. Having worked on Visual Studio since 2003, he is currently responsible for the Productivity Power Tools & the core editing experience for Visual Studio 2010.

Prakash Balasubramanian

Prakash is a Software Design Engineer in Test on the C# Compiler team at Microsoft. He has been a member of the C# Compiler team for 5 years and has worked on testing some of the language features introduced in C# 3.0 and C# 4.0. You can find Prakash on Twitter at http://twitter.com/praksb

Adrian 'Spotty' Bowles

Spotty is Software Engineer in Test on the VB Compiler team. He has worked on the team for 5 years testing features like extension methods, collection and array initializers. Spotty earned a Bachelor of science in Computer Studies from the Leicester University in the UK.
