“Civic Hacking for Florida’s Future” and will consist of a review of the current state of open data and accessibility as well as include a brief 101 how to use public police data in a carto map.

Speakers:

Robert Davis is a civic technology organizer and marketing manager. He works at a local startup, http://71lbs.com , and on nights and on weekends he dawns the cape of coorganzier for Code for Fort Lauderdale, your neighborhood civic hacking brigade. This group, one of many taking root across the United States and abroad, are advocating for new levels of civic engagement and collaboration through technology. Rob is a Code for America intern alumni ('12) and a White House "Champion of Change for Open Government and Civic Hacking" ('13). He’s hosted several hackathons, participated (and won) a few too.
